Dad's had this thing forever... I got it with 33k miles and that's still what it has... doesn't look like it though eh? He gave it to somebody to paint back in '98, and it sat there outside in primer( and without a hood or fenders) until about '05 due to the bodyman having a stroke and my dad not knowing what to do with it. So I've been working on it little by little. So far I've patched both fenders with full doglegs, redid the entire brake system, rebuilt the carb, changed the oil/plugs about three times and the cap, rotor, points, and wires. The rocket 350 runs excellent... you'd never know it had water all through it. The fridgidaire/GM a/c compressor still works and it blows cold air with R12 in there! Most people tell me to junk/part this car because it's a 4 door but I am really impressed with its endurance and the will it seems to have to survive... So I'm fixin it! All it needs as of now is reassembly and paint.... I even took it for an illegal drive without fenders/hood and it rode nice.
Update: 3/28/11 The Cutlass is painted, tuned and I actually drove it last fall... first time it's been driven in years. Not long and it will be back on the road for the spring, still needs some minor work but it's lightyears from where it was in terms of condition. It was hard work but I'd do it all again, it's a great car.
350/2-jet with the 2 speed auto transmission and 12 bolt rear, 4 wheel drum non power brakes.
This thing is pretty bare... The only option I know of on it is a/c... the rest is standard. Doesn't even have a dash clock.
