Here we have a stock 1971 Z that as rare as it sounds was purchased from the original owner in the San Francisco area. There is no doubt this has been a loyal family member for all these years and the stack of bills for it attest to the attention it got with its first "keeper". Each member of the family was an part of this Z making the purchase process a joy. They truly wanted this to go to someone who would continue to look after it. The 37 years had many memories for them.
This is far from being a pristine car but a good example of a rust free California car which with some work will be a fantastic driver. The original interior mostly still in the car, engine changed to a 280 unit and the car has been painted once. I just love these cars that have been driven and enjoyed for what they are. This one has those original 14 inch slots that almost all the Z's sold back then got.
I have upgraded this Z with a 8 inch gold centre Enkei rims on the rear and 7s on the front and 225/60s all around. Everything is for sale so if you see yourself as a serious buyer looking for a rock solid early Z I will sell this one. An increasingly rare sight on the roads now are original Zs, in fact any Z at all here in Canada. Out of all the cars I have owned these early Zs are the ones that attract the most comments and attention, even more than the Cobras. When I drive one of these home in the summer I get constant comments on what is it, what a beautiful car, my sister/brother/father/uncle/teacher/neighbour owned one of those and I always wanted one etc. This is a testament to the timeless beauty of a design that may not have been an original for Datsun but certainly one they did very well.
