The car is a 1971 MGB GT purchased in 1971 from a dealer in Toronto while I was on a British car kick. A great little car and one of about 4 MGBs I came to own over the years. It was a demonstator so I got a good discount off its original $3,695 list price even though it was a split bumper so I suspect actually a 1970 model. I was single, still a student, so it was a good commuter car with a reasonable amount of room. This was a popular colour but the MGBs were getting their butts kicked by the 240Z in both value and performance at the time.
In the background across the street you will just make out a 1968 Mustang convertible which for some reason was very seldom driven by the owner. It actually was a 390 4 speed car in blue, white top, blue interior and rally rims. At that time though they were common and certainly not as sought after as they are today. I can remember though even though it was only 4 or so years old it had already started to rust through!
The car was traded in for a brand new Magenta 73 TR6.
1800 cc, 4 speed overdrive
