Pretty much a complete restore that my wonderful Husband did for me!!! 5 years of work. The car was gold when we purchased. We debated between painting it Red or Black, Black won! We bought it from someone who had purchased off EBAY. He told us when it was delivered and unloaded off the truck he said 'That's not the car I bought'. It had been pieced together for EBAY sell. Poor thing had lots of big screws holding it together. Most of the flares and spoilers had been spray painted (along with any section of the car touching them). It was a New England car so lots of rust. Too much work for him so after a couple of years sitting in his garage he decided to sell it.
My husband did all the body and paint work. He also had to put in a new engine. The original 301 needed 'spark plugs' but was to far gone once he tore into it. He replaced it with a 455 Olds. Check out the pictures in my album for some before pictures.
Took a long time to get done but we have had lots of fun driving it this past summer! Hoping to take it on the 2009 Bandit Run.
One interesting feature (or lack of), no air conditioning! Not a great thing in a black car with black interior, but that's what the T-tops are for!
