1985 Ford Mustang GT (My Hot Rod)

Last updated May 15, 2007

Photo of a 1985 Ford Mustang GT (My Hot Rod)

I bought this car in April 2005 in fair condition, and have started making it what I want it to be. This will be an ongoing process for years.

I did all the body work and paint myself, now that it's done I'm turning my attention to the engine. I'm dropping in a 393 stroker this year, and rebuilding the T-5. I've ordered the short block and have the old engine out and dismantled. I hope to have the car running with the new engine by Memorial day. Again I'll be doing all the work myself, as that's what the car hobby is all about in my eyes.

Update: The 393 is in and running good.

Anybody with money can have a shop build a car for them, but they will never have the satisfaction that comes with knowing you've done it yourself.

5 speed with 393 stroker power.

MSD, 8.8 rear with 3.73's, aluminum driveshaft, Griffen radiator w/ electric fan. With 393 Windsor stroker.
