I bought this car during July of 2005 and sold it in October of '05. It was one of 4955 944 turbos produced in 1987 (one of 3210 in the U.S. for '87). I loved the car but sold it to my German car mechanic in order to buy another of my 'must own at some point' cars on my list... a Porsche 928 S4.
The 944 turbo is a wonderfully fun car to drive. Despite their age, they handle like few other cars I have experienced and they are even, dare I say, practical cars to drive often.
I want another 944 turbo someday... an '89 turbo (or '88 turbo S)
4 cyl turbocharged and intercooled
217 HP @ 5800 RPM
5 speed manual rear transaxle
Curb weight 2758 lbs
Removable (or tilt up) sunroof
Late model forged turbo S wheels, Lindsey boost enhancer
