This started out as a Maisto Texas taxi cab and I turned it into a replica of a flat top Whitby O.P.P. police car. When the car was done I took it over to the Whitby O.P.P. detachment and to GM Fleet Services here in Oshawa,Ontario and they both liked it very much.Fleet services liked so much that they gave me a ball cap with the Impala Logo on it and the word police, plus they gave a gave me a 1:32 scale version of their 2001 Impala Police Vehicle Test Car.
To be challenged by other models.
Stripped the body and primed it and the chassis then i painted them both white and the moulding on the side of the was also painted body color.I took the headlights apart and added strobe lights to them. The chassis was detailed using flat black, aluminum, steel and Bare Metal Foil. The engine compartment was detailed using flat & gloss black, silver and used some under hood decals from my parts box.The truck was just painted flat black. The interior was color was left stock but I detailed the radio equipment and added front and rear radar units which I wired. The lights on the packing shelf are from AMT's Ghostbuster's ECTO 1 model kit.The partion between the seats is painted gloss black and I painted the floor flat black to simulate rubber floor mat.I also painted the center caps on the wheels flat black. The decals I got from a company in London,Ontario called JBot Decals and his website is www.jbot.ca check it out.
