This is a retired Florida Highway Patrol car. It is one of 200 ordered by and delivered to the FHP in 2002. I have been provided the original owner's manual, build sheet, service records, photo of the assigned trooper to the car, the window sticker, and other collectibles of the FHP along with several photos of the car in service.
According to the FHP records, fewer than 100 of these cars survived to auction, and this unit was one of those survivors. Many of these were purchased to build into racing cars, and only a few found their way into the hands of restorers.
The B4C is being restored to the in-service condition with full emergency compliment of equipment including light bar, SmartSiren system, wig-wags front/rear, MaraTrac radio system, Dynamax siren speaker, electronic gun mount, and Kustom Hawk radar with dual antennas.
The exterior of the car still has the original paint from the factory with the almond-creme color added by the FHP. It does have batlescars in the paint, but shine up really nice for show.
The car is displayed in our back yard which provides an atmosphere of "Florida" with the Spanish Moss and trees making this retired FHP B4C right at home.
310 hp from the factory with Onyx Black Clearcoat. Almond-creme added by the FHP along with the factory modifications provided for Chevrolet's Special Service Police Package Camaro identified as a B4C.
The car is a 35th Anniversary Special Edition and a B4C making it rather rare especially since the FHP only ordered 200 for service all exactly alike.
Top speed verified by the MI Highway Patrol is 159mph. Basically te B4C is a Z28-SS w/o badging or identifying decals except for the Camaro emblem on the nose and the engraved C A M A R O on the rear deck.
The car came with A/C, PS, PB, PW, PL and is a 35th anniversary edition car. It has the Monsoon Sound System with 8 speakers and the special factory alloy wheels.
The car along with other FHP units had a pcm chip and computer flashing to bring it to operating @ 365hp. Check out the B4C specifications on the Chevrolet web site for more factory provided systems unique to the B4C.
