Very fast "hot hatch", regularly came out top in reviews with others - e.g. Golf GTi, Renault Clio/Megane Sport, Ford Focus Sti etc. A cross between a track-day and regular road-use car. Almost impossible to drive within posted speed limits! Similar to, but faster spec than, Type-S in USA.
New Civic Type-R released which was "smoothed" a bit, but had a rather Las Vegas look about it. Still used same engine/gearbox.
Drove the new Type-R and found it to be much like my earlier model, except for being a little heavier and feeling less edgy. Nice car, but I like my edginess! Also discovered that the Japanese get a 4-door Sedan version of the Type-R Civic with uprated running gear, suspension and engine - I'm annoyed this isn't available in the UK as it also looks much better at the rear than the new model.

Type-R no longer available due to emissions regs in the UK! Still have my baby though, with only 20k miles on the clock. Should I sell it, or should I not? That's one hard decision to make.
Normally aspirated 2.0 straight 4, 197bhp
Recaro-type seats - very grippy for hard cornering.
Added aircon and cd-changer from new.
Replaced Bridgestone Potenza Tyres with Federals. Still on the Federals and they're lasting great.
Some after-market kit available, but I frankly don't think it needs it!
