I am more of a V-8 RWD guy too. But with my driving record insurance was getting up there with the '97 Camaro SS (anniversary edition). I was going to order a dark blue Cobalt, but once I test drove the black one, I didn't want to wait. The LSJ ECOtec engine is no slouch at all! That's why they used it in the first Ariel Atom 2 that they built in the states. The Atom 2 is really amazing! Check out some videos on YouTube or something, it will make you want one.

2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS/SC (Black Balt)

Photo of a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt SS/SC (Black Balt)

I bought this car December 1st, 2005. It's pretty zippy. I've hit just over 150mph in it. It handles amazingly, I love it.

The following is directly quoted from Wikipedia:

The LSJ is a de-stroked (to 86 mm) version of the L61 Ecotec with an Eaton M62 Roots-type supercharger and air-to-liquid intercooler. It is rated at 205 hp and 200 ft·lbs, but many dynamometer tests have shown up to 20% more power in actual cars.

The LSJ was on the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 2006.
