i got ths bike back when i was 12 years old (1980). it was my cousins bike, and he bought it used in 1969. he was killed in a snowmobile accident in 1980, and i inherited the bike. when i was little, i used to sit on it, and pretend i was riding it..i loved that bike. he knew how much i liked it, so he willed it to me long before his accident. it didn't look anything like it does now when i got it. it had ape hanger handle bars, a big sissy bar on the back, the tank was painted black, a king and queen style seat and it had some t.t. style pipes on it with shorty mufflers. it ran, but not very well. i did all the work on it except for the paint.
1966 triumph bonneville 650 c.c. vertical twin, dual amal carbs.
very custom painted 1970 triumph gas tank. painted by tom taylor in california. tom taylor (not thom taylor) passed awy in 1999, and this was one of the last paint jobs here ever did. the tank and the paintjob were given to me by him as a christmas gift in 1999. see, my dad taught tom how to paint when they were kids...and the rest is history.
drag pipes, drag bars, chopped stainless steel fenders, soon to come, lowered rear suspension. the engine is internally stock, except for a set of hi-lift cams. i did all of the work myself in my garage, the paint job has a little bit of everything in it. the base is candy red and black marbelizing, there are flames, pinstriping, flip-flop, pearls and candy paints used on it.
