This car was in Hot Rod Drag Week 2005 & 2006, Jan. 2006 Hot Rod Magazine article, Jan. 2007 Hot Rod Magazine article, was in Car Craft Jan. 2006, Car Craft Feb. 2007 and PRI Jan. 2007 MSD ads, in MSD 2007 Catalog, Hot Rod TV used it in thier advertisements, and it ran in Pinks All Out Feb. 2007
Purchased under at tree in Loveland, CO on Memorial day, 2001. This was 4 year project built on weekends during the winters. I do not have time during the summer. I work at a race track... It was nearly 4 years to the day, when I 'brought it home'. Had it out and about for 2 years now (2007). That is equivelant to about 250 miles! I am proud to have done everything except for the exterior paint and body. I had such a great deal from a friend (Custom Paint & Design - Fort Collins), that I had to let him do it all. Help from my dad and brother. Just wanted a fun street car. My Roadrunner is very streetable, but not that fun to 'cruise around' in anymore. Especially at $6 per gallon and 4 mpg. I always loved the E-bodies. My ultimate street/fun E-body would have, in the end, had a 6-speed and A/C. Maybe a swift little 360 crate. Maybe a 426 Hemi crate... It still turned out to be a very cool car. My brother and dad thought I was kiding when I told them it was a driver. It is. Just not as often as I had hoped.
Looking into a 5.7 crate Hemi from Mopar... how cool... a modern "Hemi Barracuda"! Some great deals on crate motors in Denver, plus a lead on a supercharged 5.7 out of V.Gaines (NHRA Pro Stock driver) personal Ddoge Magnum.
On Display at Pepsi Center 10/07 for the Hot Rods & Hockey Show, in conjunction with the Avs vs. Wild.
It has a 340 engine that has been stroked to a 417 with 11.2:1 Compression, 600+ Horsepower, Indy top end and runs at 160 - 170 degrees all day long. (Built by BES Racing Engines)
The transmission is a 727 reverse valve body automatic with transmission brake and 3200 stall. It has a B & M Magnum grip shifter installed in the factory console. (Built by Tranzact Racing Transmissions)
The rear end is a 373 Detroit locker with Moser axles and Strange gears along with QA1 Billet shocks and Caltracs traction bar system.
This is a factory A/C car but NO a/c parts are currently on the car.
The body is all original and uncut w/fiberglass AAR hood.
Complete new Alterkation front suspension with tubular "A" arms, QA1 coilovers, and rack and pinion steering.
It has 4 wheel aerospace disk brakes with line-lock and billet calipers.
There is a nice stereo with CD player also.
This car IS NOT half backed or tubed! It also has a roll cage with removable drivers side bar.
This car still retains the factory rally dash with gauges, factory center cosole, factory fuel tank (no fuel cell), and the original steering wheel.
