I wanted a red 4 speed coupe. This was a numbers-matching car, purchased with 86k miles January 2010 upstate NY, about 300 miles from my Long Island, NY residence. I took a bus there and drove it home.
The first owner ('74-'02) had the original engine overhauled.The car was refinished in its original color, Mille Miglia Red. The interior was original. The car was garaged its entire life and not driven in winters.
The second owner ('02-'09) had a new clutch and new BF Goodrich T/A tires installed. Headlight retractors and front and rear bumper covers were also replaced.
I had new rear brakes, a new brake line, and a failed ignition switch installed.
At the 2010 Corvettes at Carlisle in Pa. the car was on the showfield at the C3 Registry site and participated in the downtown Carlisle parade of 400 Corvettes and an American flag display of 155 Corvettes (see blog below).
On Feb 6, 2013 the car was destroyed from an engine compartment fire during a short trip while in the shop. R.I.P.
Just got it about a month ago for a graduation present. Took it to a few car shows, got quite a few looks. I plan on putting in a Shark Bite front and rear coilover conversion kit this winter when I take the car off the road. Can't wait to see what it will handle like!

355 CiD, I'm guessing 300+ horses 400+ ftlbs. It's a rebuilt L-48 with .030 pistons (so a 355) Edelbrock performer intake, mild cam, heads from a 1970 corvette which were ported, holley 600cfm which is going to be upgraded to a holley 750cfm dominator. I'm not too sure about the 0 - 60 or the 14 mile but I maxed out the 160mph speedo and beat a few mustangs and camaros...
