Cars Profile

About me and my passion for cars

I am a medically retired/disabled Navy Sailor (MM3). My mother would tell you that my ex-wife was the reason I got into cars... but that is not true... i have always loved cars in one way or the other... be it newer cars to the old style muscle cars. My first real experience with a sports car was my 1982 Mazda RX-7... it drove well for a while after we got the carb fixed.. then after a year the engine (which did not like cold weather) got carbon lock and lost all compression... so insted of rebuilding the engine (which would cost around $5000) I opted to modify the car with new motor mounts and a SBC engine. My ex ended up selling it for $500 after the divorce (so I could not have it). I ended up becoming a mechanic for a while and worked on everything from Corvettes to well just about anything else out there. I got my Nova about 6 months ago and loved it... but I was a little over my head with it so I sold it to someone who could take care of it the right way. Then I found my Trans Am... and now I am ready to do this right... rebuild and restore it back to its former glory

My first car

1988 Pontiac LeMans (POS).. red demon, cost more to fix that it was worth.. but it was fixed for me to drive to school and back (and to ferry my sister around too)

Car I wish I still had

1982 Mazda RX-7, rotary engine got carbon lock and was replaced with 305 cubic inch SBC racing motor and 3-speed automatic transmission
