I have been a Trans Am nut since 1975, TWO YEARS before Smokey and The Bandit came out. I saw a brand new TA driving down the street and my mouth dropped. When I saw the movie 2 years later the new-for-77 nose and the t-roofs made me fel that Pontiac took the coolest car ever made and made it even cooler. After that I wanted a 77 or 78 TA with t-toofs; color wasn't important. I've owned 4 TA's since my first in 1985; a red 78, a red 85, a 77 SE; and the 78 SE I have now. I was one of the first members of the Bandit Trans Am Club when it started in 1992 and I have a gallery there with a ton of pics of both SEs I have owned. www.bandittransamclub.com My 78 SE has the W72 400 - .030 over with the Edelbrock Performer Power Package (carb, manifold & cam); tall chrome valve covers; all emissions removed; ceramic coated headers with true dual exhaust; 3.23 rear gears with turbo 350 with a shift kit; WS6 suspension with polyurethane bushings and subframe connectors; and also functional hood scoop.
