I loved cars ever since i was 7 years old. My best friends older brother got me hooked on old cars, he was a Ford fanatic. And always had some sort of 67 or 68 Mustang laying around, various Torino's , 36 Fords, etc` I lived in Astoria queens at the time which is about 1/2 hour away from Manhattan. I remember watching drag racing on the streets near the factory section of our neighborhood . This was the early to mid 1980's. I remember the scent of tire smoke and cam2 in the air. On friday nights i would ask my parents if i could sleep over my best friends house which was 2 blocks away and then we would sneek out of his house around midnight and run down to the factories and watch street racing till 4 in the morning. The racers would get to know us real well as we were there every friday night. We were the youngest ones there, i think we were both 11 years old at the time. There was this 1962 Chevy II (Nova) that was fully tubbed and had a blower sticking out of the hood it was named BAD TO THE BONE i remember the car till this day. The one night the driver approached my friend and i and asked if we wanted a ride and of course we said yes. BOY WE WILL NEVER FORGET THAT RIDE!!!! I SWEAR THE FRONT WHEELS MUST OF CAME OFF THE GROUND ABOUT 5 INCHES. Till this day i am still addicted to old cars and will be till the day i die. I like all sorts of makes.
