As a child, I remember my friends brother had an Austin Healy 3000 and then bought a new 240Z. I has in heaven. My sister gradulated high school in 1967. Guess who got to ride in all SSs, souped up 57 Chevys, Camaros, etc that her boyfriends had?? ME. My English teacher in Jr. High had a 1967 Vette and he would pick me up for school, even though I lived 2 blocks away and my mother was a teacher also at the same school. I could have easily rode with her or walked. The first time I saw a real Trans Am like in the movie Smokey and the Bandit, I knew I would have one.
My first car was a hand me down: 1962 Ford Falcon which was all beat up from several wrecks. The running joke was to "fill up the oil and check the gas." this gave me a bad taste for Fords. I saw a 1969 Mustang GT fastback with a 351 for sale. My Dad was going to buy me a car and he didn't bring it home?? I asked where is the Mustang? You said you didn't want another Ford was his reply. Too late on that one but I got a 1969 LeMans, red, black vinyl roof, buckets, 350 engine and put 100K miles on that car.
The car above was a 1969 Pontiac LeMans that I had in High School. The battery cables got dirty one day, got mad and sold it for $500. STUPID. All my high school and college memories were in that car.
I had a Bandit Trans Am that I sold many years ago. I wish I had that one back.
My dream car would be a 1969 Camaro Z-28, 4 speed, 302. A friend of mine had one in college. Or a split window Corvette. I would really like to have a 1977 4 speed Trans AM SE because mine is an automatic. I would love to have a 1977 Trans AM that I could run into the ground. . . you know, one that I could burn the tires off of. . .
Bandit Trans Am Club and I go to the Home Depot car shows in the spring every third Saturday and stuff like that. near my home there are several cars shows, a different one every weekend in the spring.
