I got passionate about cars after seeing my uncle drive a beat-to-pieces TR 3 onto our front lawn when I was about 5. I've been "stoked" ever since.
My first car was a 1959 chev Biscayne. The floor boards were so far gone that you could watch the road passing under you as you drove. the Flintstone's car was in better shape.
A copper 1970 Dodge Charger RT, with a 440 Magnum, pistol grip 4 speed, posi rear end and a vinyl roof. A MG Midget and a Mg 1100, neither of which were fast, but both were tons of fun.
My wife Carol and I now own the car of our dreams. It is a 1981 MP Lafer. Just like the last 4 or more owners of this incredible little car... we had no idea what it was. We thought that it was a 1952 MGTD replica kit car. You can't imagine how pleased we were to find out that it is a very rare MP Lafer. We discovered this fact while looking for parts for it on the internet. This car is a hand built Brazilian VW based sports car. I have only driven the car twice and Carol has only driven it around the block once but it has generated a ton of waves and smiles. It appears to bring as much pleasure to the people looking at it as it does to us to drive it. The picture that we have posted of the Lafer was taken the first day that we bought the car back in September 2006. The brakes were not even working at this point. It has been under constant "renovation" ever since. We will post some updated pictures when we have restored it enough to be interesting. Carol calls it our "work in Progress".
