June 28th is the OZC Drag Event at St Thomas Dragway, so I've one month left to get the Z back on the road. The hard lines for the fuel system are in, and the filter is mounted. I have some of the flex lines done, but trying to get socketless hose onto the fitting nipples is damn near impossible! The hose goes on part way, and then just locks there. I've nearly put my whole weight down on the hose, and it barely moves.

In the mean time, I've been working on the 240SX transmission swap. I've almost finished the machining on the 280ZX bellhousing, and once that's done I'll send the case out for beadblasting. After that, I'll be able to bolt it all back together. I did a test fit last night and tried out the new short shifter I picked up on ebay. The shifts feel really nice and short. I can't wait to try it in the car!

Ok, so it's time to replace the fuel lines. I added a new steel feed line back when I did the fuel injection conversion, and I used the original feed line as the return (stock return line was too small). After 34 years, the original fuel line sprung a leak (right on the exhaust!), so I'm just going to replace all the fuel lines with 3/8" aluminum hard lines and rubber flex lines (can't afford the fancy braided stuff). I have a list of about 30 components to make this work. I just need to place the order...
