Well I was 17 and started workin in this shop called "Alameda Indian" on San Leandro Blvd In my home town Oakland Ca and just like the name implies the shop was full of old ass bike parts, not just Indian parts but Everything and anything ol "Stinky" the owner could get his hands on, Yeah it a long story, and a damn good one too!
For another time. I was working on my hard tail 650 Tryumph and he had this single down tube ridged frame and a set of flywheels and cases sittin over in a corner.
And it just sat there for like TWO HOLE HOURS so i claimed her.....and built her , With lots of help an teachin from some some of the biggest names outta the Old School book HELL these guys wrote it, Like flat track legion "Stan Deshaun" n "Jimmy Souza" San Fran. just to name a coulpe.

The only front end i could get at the time was actually the stock front end for the bike! and they knew what they were doing when they cut and extended it to 10" over, I mean they actually fabbed the tubes and ( Re-sweated ) then back together!
I hunted down everything needed to build both the engine and trany to stock standard specs.
Like everybody else i move up and on to a big twin and let the old Flatty go..... Years later she actually found me again!
I cut the web behind the neck just to the top flat iron and heated her up with a torch and raked it 5/8 " so she would get her nose outta the air and have better manors on the road. Then I puzzle piece welded the web back in "instead of boxing"
