Well, I put it off long enough. The weather was fighting me when I started working on it, but it changed this week. I didn't have a chance to work on it though until Saturday. I started in by getting the idler arm bolted in and started tearing the rear brakes down. The keeper pins had rusted off in the right side, so I started on that corner first. I got new hardware to start with. Then I found out the adjuster was rusted solid. I went back to get adjusters for both sides. Guess what? Our 2500 has 13" drums. 11" is more common, so that's what they stock. Pretty much everything for 13" drums is special order. I won't have the new ones until Tuesday. I couldn't settle for that! I broke out the torch and WD-40, a pair of Vise-Grips and a big pair of Channel-Locks. I got the adjusters to free up! So I went about putting everything back together. Then I figured out why the pedal dropped when I moved the truck out of it's hole it was parked in since last fall. The metal line running to the rear rusted out beside the gas tank. That is going to be a pain to fix at home. I'll see if I can get it in our shop after Thanksgiving and drop the tank and fix the line there. I did manage to charge a battery enough to get it started, once. So that means I still need a new battery. Oh yeah, this truck has "Kevin Yates" written all over it! On big pile of crap that was offered to my wife for his past-due child support. By the time everything that was screwed up when we got the truck from him, I'll have about as much in it as if I would've bought a decent truck off a dealer lot. Oh well, it's ours now! No payments except maintenance expenses! I'm almost affraid to ask "what next?" LOL! I didn't take any new pictures because it was dark by the time I finished tonight. Same album I used before.
UPDATE: Thanksgiving week-end.... "black Friday" won't get me in the stores. My step-son wnts to take his mother and me to a movie and lunch. I'm going to try to work on the truck Thursday morning before we gather for the feast. Then again Friday before lunch and the movie then maybe some more after the movie. Saturday I'm hoping to have all to the truck so I can get it all finished! 'Bout F'n time!

Thursday was all feasting, no work. Friday was a "lazy day". Saturday the lunch and movie plans didn't come together as planned so that got moved to Sunday. I took a couple hours after church Sunday to throw the drums and wheels on it, jump start it and moved it off the driveway before going to the movies. It's going to sit for now. Moving on to "indoor" projects.

In Minneosta you lose your drivers license if you dont pay child support. Hope it goes together OK.

We settled for way less than Kevin owed only because we knew he'd never pay cash.
