I am interested in the impact of the recession / depression on regular folks (not the greedy class) so this story caught my eye.

The repo man shows up to take a car. The owner, a hair-stylist, at work and trying to work so she could make the payments just didn't like idea. So, she torched it.

It was a Kia Optima. So why do you think she torched it? ;-)

A moment where the frustration exceeded her ability to cope. Who knows what other hardships she was facing? It was a stupid stunt but I cannot judge her as everyone has a breaking point and maybe she just reached hers. I think it is sad all around.

Working hard for very little...frustration, and just a bad move and then to have to Go to jail over a Kia....OUCH...for sure a sign of the times!

lol I think they would have been doing her a favor of towing it away and keeping it!
But why torch something if you will still have to pay for it anyway?
