- 1) I'm not sure, but I know GM offered 3-point belts in at least some models for the 1965 model year.
2) Federal law mandated lap belts in all seating positions starting January 1, 1966, and shoulder harnesses in the outboard front seats January 1, 1968. Most manufacturers phased them in at the beginning of those respective model years. Back-up lights and driver's side mirrors became mandatory 1/1/66 too, and side marker lights on 1/1/68.
3) I believe it was Volvo some time in the mid-70's.
4&5) Not a clue!
