Ok so I pretty much dont like cops. especially in a fairly small town. I got pulled over a few days ago because I have blue "HALOS" in my headlights...but when my headlights are actually on you cant see the halos. Unfortunately however, i was just turning my headlights on and i guess the cop caught a glimpse og the blue ring. Now be do you get a light blue classic camaro that has a deep rumble to it confused with a cop car, speciffically a charger? one cop gave me a warning for pretty much impersonating a police officer, now like i said a second ago how do you get camaro mixed up with charger, adn also my headlights were on and it was like 10 at night. Of course this cop was a deusch to begin with he hates muscle cars, and he thinks his honda can out run anything. Back to my ticket, my court date is on june 9th I got advise from my boyfriends mom who used to work as a county deputy, now shes in atlanta as an officer in covington. she told me to try and fight it. I got an email from the company stating that the headlights are 100% street legal. I deleted the first email after i got the headlights, so i had to re send it. and i have a pic of an acura with blue tinted headlights...stock...saved on the computer. and on top of that, the cop tapped on the rear quarter of my car as he was coming to get me to sign the ticket, that irritated me even more. I know my cars not in the greatest shape in the world, but dont disrespect someones car like that.

hahaha now i dont know how true this is, but i was reading up on the law and found it is a felony and has a minimum of a $1000 fine. and the whole thing of a cop putting his foot on a newly chromed bumper or any part of my car...i would have to go to jail over that...that would piss me off so bad! I can get pretty mouthy and not pay too much attention to what i say whick gets me into a bit of into a fight in 10th grade and threw out the "n" bomb. needless to say i got 3 days iss, and the black chick, hence the n bomb, got expelled. she was the instigator of the whole thing so yeah thhey said if i hadnt said what i did i would not have gotten into trouble. anyways i dont plan on taking those headlights off my car. EVER! also i have some pics of the car with the halos on, and one with the headlights blue is visible when the headlights are on.

Fight that ticket! Take all the documentation you have with you, including whatever you have from the light's manufacturer and the photo you mentioned. Also, see if the manufacturer has a legal specialist who could send you further documentation applicable to your state.

You aren't the only one who has problems with bogus tickets from overzealous cops just looking to make quota at the beginning or end of the month. Here's the story of my first run in with them: The first time I was pulled over was back in late 1980. I was headed home from work on a local Interstate in my '65 Chevy II sedan and got caught in a typical end-of-the-month quota speed trap, set out by the Conshohocken, PA Police Dept. I was singled out of a group of a dozen or more cars all flowing together at about 60MPH in a 55 zone, probably because my car looked to be the rattiest of the bunch and they assumed I'd be the least likely to fight the ticket. (I was in the middle of prepping the car for paint, and the bodywork was nearly complete, but there were primer spots all over it.) I had all the chrome off of the car except for the door handles. I had already had the bumpers rechromed and back on the car to keep it legal. The cop came strolling up to the car from his cruiser and asked me "Just what the hell is this piece of s*** anyway?" He then assumed the typical cop pose of putting a foot on the back bumper as he was writing the ticket, ruining the new chrome!

One thing to remember: Police officers, by and large, DON'T behave this way! Mainly they respect their badges and don't use them to oppress ordinary citizens. You found the bad apple in the basket like I did back in 1980. For every one of them there are a dozen that will do the right thing... Unless their department is like several in my area that actually have revenue from traffic citations as a budget item, in which case they have no say in the matter if they want to keep thrir jobs!
