I Be Buildin' Me A Transmission This Weekend!

By Crazyfast79TA

I got my transmission clutch spring compressor tool yesterday! I ordered it Saturday from Tooltopia. They said it would be here in 5 to 7 business days. It was only 3 days! Now if Northern Tool would send the power steering pulley puller! That was supposed to be 3 to 5 business days. Oh well! I started fabricating my motor mount plates tonight. I have them cut out and ready to drill some holes but I can't find my box full of "project bolts". I can drill the holes I need and tap the one that need tapped, but I can't bolt them together until I get my bolts. The last couple evenings I was tracing wires down and sorting out what I needed and what I don't. The only wire I'm going to have to cut is the coil wire so I can put the pigtail for the HEI on it. I'm not sure how I'm going to recalibrate the tach yet. I found a website that tell how to do it, but it involves diodes and such. Maybe I'll figure it out. Hey, if I'm going to tackle a 700R4, why not a tachometer?

Sometime KISS is WOW! This is going to be a simple V-8 S-10 but I think it's going to be simple enough to make it WOW!

This will be my first "solo" attempt at a transmission rebuild. I think as long as I don't have somebody looking over my shoulder or getting too rammy about getting it together it should work this time!

Sounds like you're reved up and ready to SPRING into action. Posting a blog / update on the Studebaker as I'm getting pulled into making more upgrades on the air intake. Just woundering how far to go. KISS method or WOW Factor.
