Restored vs. Rusty

By 67pontiacman

Ok what’s the deal with everyone wanting and paying more for original cars? People are getting barn find cars and unrestored cars and leaving them this way. Even leaving the dirt on them. They claim they are only original once. Believe me they didn't leave the factory this way. In the 40's-70's nobody wanted they're car stock because they were boring, slow and looked like everyone else’s. So they modified them just like we do today. Also do you think that if Henry Ford was to come back to life and see an old rusty beat up 32 3 window coupe he would say awesome car? No he would be pissed off and want to kick some butt.

People are spending big money on these cars that need full restoration but they won’t get restored. If they restore it to a nice car again it won’t be worth much. Huh????? Real car guys and gals are spending $20,000-$1,000,000 to restore or customize their cars to be nice looking, running, driving cars, but they're not worth as much as a rusty piece of crap.

I think one day people are going to realize the barn find they didn't restore is now a bigger piece of s*** than it was when they got it. Rust and rot don’t stop just because you brought it home and put it in your million dollar collection.

Wake up people and restore these cars to they're former glory. Or even better Restomod or even update them so you can drive it in today’s conditions like a new car.

Excellent post, and spot on. Long live the Ress-tor-raders of this country. Restore the past for future generations to enjoy and realize who we were and how life use to be, back in the day.
