About “The Beast”

I bought this car in june 2000. It was imported from Melbourne ,Australia by Mad Max Cars. There were only a little more than 26,000 Falcon coupes built from 1972 to 1978.Best estimate by fellow owners approximate that there are only about 100 cars in the North American continent. Out of those there are less than 10 XA Falcons.
My car participated at Ford's 100th celebration in 2003 . Along with 25 other Falcon owners. This was the largest single gathering of Australian Falcons outside of Australia and New Zealand. 25 cars may not sound like a lot ,but it is about 25% of what is in North America. We were featured (including this car ) on the Official Ford DVD about the event. My car has also appeared on HOT ROD TV's event coverage. Some have noticed that this is the body style used in the films Mad Max and the Road Warrior. Which is what drove me obsess over these cars for 20 years before I could purchase it. This car was completely disassembled and redone. The body required 350 + hours to get it mirror straight as can be seen in pics on my attached page. We all know Black hides nothing . this car has nothing to hide.
That said this car as rare as it is always is driven and never trailered. We drove it Dearborn nearly 600 miles one way.Funny thing is no one buys a muscle car for gas mileage but on this trip the car got 25-27 miles to a gallon at 65-70 miles a hour. You got to love highway driving. City driving however proves it is a muscle car with 8-12 MPG. I've never seen such a large difference before ,but I can only guess that there is a sweet spot that the car loves. What makes driving the car great is the look on other drivers faces when they realize the car is Right Hand Drive.
