About “Hurst Olds”
Found this car in an ad that listed it as a 83 Cutlass, black & silver. Called them and asked questions and realized it was a Hurst Edition. Got cash and took my trailer 110 miles and was able to get it. I had bought one of these when they were new and always regretted selling it. This one is original / unmolested in quite nice condition for its age.
In January of 1995 I found my 1986 Trans Am in a used car lot. At the time it had 59,000 miles, was dark blue metallic w/silver ground effects and had been used as a pace car on the local race track. It was pretty much a stock 305.
Since that day I have totally transformed her into a custom modified beauty”. In 2000 I had my 305 pulled and the car painted Ice Blue w/Pearl Dust in the clear coat and Ghost Flames coming out of both front fenders by Dreamakers Kustoms in Endicott, NY. Upon completion of the paint I installed a custom built 350/420 Chevy Engine, a 700R4 transmission, Be Cool radiator, fiberglass Ram Air Hood, Eagle alloy wheels and a custom dual muffler system w/dual Monza exhaust tips. The interior is stock except for firebirds embroidered on the headrests, Panasonic stereo w/ MTX custom sub box (same color as car), a Kicker Amp and a B&M Ratchet Shifter.
In 2010 a very good friend of mine helped tuck all the engine wires into the sub-frame and another friend helped add a March Performance Serpentine Chromed Front End, Flamed Valve Covers & Breathers, Taylor Wires, Flamed Spark Plug Wire Loom, Flamed Radiator Cap and Lokar Transmission and Oil Dip Sticks. All flamed articles were air brushed with the ice blue car paint.
In 2010 (Prior to the custom engine work) I won all local shows in my class and took a 1st place in 3rd Gen at the “Firebirds On The Lawn Show” in Saratoga Springs, NY.
The car now has 131,000 miles on her, would you believe that? I hope you all enjoy the way she looks. Positive or negative comments requested.
