Description: This was my first Pontiac. Originally rescued from a car lot, she was a Solar Gold automatic. After 120,000 miles, the tranny failed, and my buddy and I performed an "automatic-ectomy", replacing the TH350 with a Saganaw from a Vega as a start. We then found a Borg Warner super T-10 six months later and did it right. The Gold paint was very badly faded, so I stripped off all the birds and trim, taking it for a Maaco paint job for $380. All the flares, wings and mirrors were painted seperately and reinstalled afterwards. Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of the car in it's final configuration. It had all gold S/E badging inside and out, NO birds at all except for the wheel centers, a single 1/4" gold pinstripe along the side body lines from tip to tail, with nothing but a stock looking "T/A" and the back spoiler. All the window trim, bezels and air inlets were trimmed in bright gold, and the interior was stock, camel tan, gold dash panel (VHT), upgraded stereo, t-handle Hurst shifter, everything 100% functional! Unfortunately, this was my daily friver, and was stolen from the parking lot at my work before I could get her judged at T/A Nat'ls in Dayton that year. =(
