About 2009 International Gathering of all C-Car Owners

The weekend of May 15 to 17, 2009 at the Columbia, MD Hilton is the date and place for this extraordinary event. For the first time in many years the man who built not one but two of the most notable Electric Vehicles of the last century will be our keynote speaker; Bob Beaumont not only started building CitiCar EV's from scratch in the 1970, he was also the man behind the Tropica venture as well.
Under the heading of C-Car's any CitiCar, Commuta-Car, & Van owner as well as Tropica / Xebra owners are welcomed to participate. On the off chance that anyone has one of the pre CitiCar Vanguard/CubCar EV's I would love to have you in attendance, too. I am hoping to have as many C-Car's as has ever been in one place ever on display for this event and they don't even have to be running, just to get them together is my hope. I am also opening this up to any other production or home built EV's and their owners who would like to come as well. Any EV and EV Parts Vendors are welcomed, also. Since I am sure all will have to be trailer, the hotel has plenty of room for trailer parking. I am even arranging for an EV Charging Station behind the Hotel.
We should all thank Louise Pyatt for her work on this years Gathering Logo. Your comments on the artwork and design prove that volunteers can make a difference.
Ben Nelson will be filiming some of the events happenings so we hope to be able to offer a CD version of the highlights to those who can't attend!?
My preliminary schedule calls for a welcome get together and EV Cruse on Friday night. Saturday will be setup as a Display of all C-Car's & EV's in attendance with popular judging by all registrants. I am arranging for the hotel to put on an outdoor (pay as you go) barbeque throughout this day as well. There will be at least two seminars scheduled throughout the day. One of the seminars is tentatively scheduled to be on the discussion of body repair for our light plastic C-Car bodies; Tom Keenan of Alameda, CA has offered to host this Seminar; thank you Tom. The other seminar is working out to be an open forum discussion of all C-Car owners with Bob, his daughter Dina, and some other knowledgeable experts filling in the gaps in our knowledge of these historic vehicles in attendance. If time permits, we can have a brief discussion on your vehicles Serial Number and the importance of what this information actually tells you Also, how my C-Car Code can be an alternative way of defining your C-Car.
Saturday night I am leaving open for the people to take in the surrounding areas entertainment or they can drop by my hospitality suite for some further discussion on anything in particular; especially EV's. Sunday I have arranged for a Farewell Brunch with Bob Beaumont as the keynote speaker. An event like this has been talked about in the past but this is the first time it has gotten beyond the planning stages.
Due to some unforseen circumstances, and down to the wire negoiations, I have handled the Hotel misunderstanding and gotten us a better room rate out of the deal. You can now call the Columbia Hilton with confidenance and make your reservations. The new rate is $99, for Queen, King, or Double.
In addition if you feel like splurging, a King Bed Master Suite can be had for $149.00. The Hotel is comprised of kings (one bedded rooms), doubles (two bedded rooms), and/or queens (one or two bedded rooms). Guest rooms will be assigned based on availability by Hotel's reservation department.
The Hotel is setting up a web based online registration page that should be ready shortly. However, if you wish to register immediately you can call them at: 1-410-997-1060 and use Group Code: CCM09.
Hilton Columbia
Please, make your hotel reservations by May 1, 2009 -- that is the cut off date for them to hold our block of rooms.
In addition, I have firmed up the EV Charging Station issue several people have commented on and negoiated an onsite area for cleaning our EV's. The cost to plug in and wash up our C-Car's will be $10 for the weekend and I will need to know by May 10, how many plugs to plan for.

I have set up an event I hope meets all of what you want, now all we need is for you to attend!
