About Montreal International Auto Show

Description

A brand new showroom layout awaits visitors!
Montreal, October 31, 2006 – The 39th Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS) will take place January 19 to 28, 2007 at Montreal’s Palais des congrès. MIAS organizers have decided to introduce a totally new layout for 2007 so that it will be easier for visitors to take in the latest car models on display. As a result, Level 7 will become optional and visitors will be able to circulate more freely throughout the exhibiton.

The public comes first

For 2007 MIAS President Jean-François Brault, the new layout will allow car lovers to get more out of their visit. “When they come to the Auto Show, visitors who have a purchase in mind prefer to go directly to a specific area in order to compare vehicles, without necessarily having to visit the entire exhibition,” said Mr. Brault. “With this new layout, we are convinced we will meet their needs.”

The new changes will mean new directional signs so that visitors will have a clear idea about where they’re going. Furthermore, the MIAS will increase on-site personnel to assist and guide visitors.

The new layout

All ticket purchases will take place on Level 1 – the same location as previous years. The main entrance will still be on Level 2, but this year, it will be situated in front of the escalators leading to Level 5. The entrance turnstiles will be moved to this location. Level 5 is where the optional portion of the exhibit, begins, which features two options:

o Option 1: When they reach Level 5, visitors will be able to visit this floor and then take the escalators to get to Level 2. After visiting that floor, they will be able to exit the Show or go directly to Level 7, using the same escalators that took them to Level 5.

o Option 2: When they reach Level 5, visitors will be able to go directly to Level 7, by taking the escalators located on their right. After visiting this floor, they will be able to go down to Level 5 for a visit and then go to Level 2 to complete the visit.

7th Heaven: a heavenly option!

“Because Level 7 is now an optional part of the visit, people who come to the Auto Show with the intention of comparing vehicles for an eventual purchase will be able to get to those areas they specifically want to see more quickly,” said Mr. Brault.

Now that Level 7 is optional, will visitors still take the time to visit the rest of the Show? The 2007 MIAS President has no doubt whatsoever. “Definitely! In this area, visitors will find cars that will blow them away, especially since these cars are rarely seen on our roads,” said Mr. Brault. “Level 7 will become 7th Heaven, and we’re sure visitors will go to this area to admire these dream cars…”

The Montreal International Auto Show, organized by the Montreal Automobile Dealers’ Corporation, is presented by the Laurentian Bank, in collaboration with The Gazette.
