1939 Divco Delivery (The Weekend To End Breast Cancer)
Last updated Jan 13, 2012
I built this for all the breast cancer survivors and for my grandma who was also a survivor, but who has now since left us.A local radio station in Toronto,Ontario Canada called 104.5 CHUM FM sponsors The Weekend To End Breast Cancer for The Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto every September and I decided that I would show my support and make this Hot Wheels Divco Dairy Delivery something unique. When It was done I sent pics to The Princess Margaret Hospital and they sent me back a reply thanking me for showing support for this cause. This was for The Weekend To End Breast Cancer 2009.
I stripped the body and repainted it white.I used testors chrome silver on the grille, trim and fuel cap and used testors turnsignal amber on the turn signals. The pink ribbon on both doors I got from google. The decal on the side I made myself and the roof decal I got from the radio station's website, then I put them through Mircosoft Works and shrunk them down so they would fit the car and printed them on my inkjet printer.Once dry I cleared them and applied them to the body and gave the body 4 more coats of clear and let it sit.I replaced the original wheels with wheels from Hot Wheels Nitro Scorcher cause the back wheels were wider and the front were smaller. The interior was also detailed by using testors flat tan, seats were done in flat tan with flat black inserts, wheel tubs were painted aluminum. The chassis was detailed using testors steel and aluminum on the exhaust and orange on the engine.
