1947 Ford Fat Fender (Fat Fender)
Last updated Sep 7, 2009
For sale at auction is our beautiful 1947 Ford Street Rod. This car runs and drives like a new car. We have owned it for approximately 3½ years and have driven it less than 100 miles. Hubby’s health makes it hard to maintain our collection so we are selling off some of them. We hope someone will use it and enjoy it more.
This car has an absolutely perfect all steel body with no sign of ever having rust. Paint is a brilliant dark maroon base coat clear coat. At night or inside the car looks deep brown but in the sun it shows a lot of metallic red. The interior is tan rolled and pleated. I’m not sure what type of material (leather or naugahide) but it is high quality. The trunk is upholstered to match. Interior is perfect. The paint has a few minor chips or flaws but none are noticeable.
It was appraised by an independent appraiser three years ago at $37,000. I have tried very hard to accurately describe this car.
Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call for details (Joe 954-610-0402). Thanks!

Cool restoration, really fun to drive.
Drive line is Chevy 350 with 350 Turbo trans and a Ford 8 or 9 inch rear. (The man I bought the car from told me it has a Ford 8” but it sure looks like a 9” to me - hard to tell.)
All the glass is good and all windows work fine. Bumpers and all trim are in great shape.
It has airbag suspension in the rear with drums. Front suspension is Mustang II type with power rack & pinion steering. Rack has tiny leak. Steering column is a chrome tilt (husband did it) column with a leather wrapped Lecara wheel. Wheels are polished American racing 15” with new tires. Disk brakes on front. Engine has HEI ignition and ceramic coated shorty headers. Dash has all working gauges plus CD player.
What it needs: The horn is not hooked up. Wipers don’t work. Fix leak in rack. Needs neutral safety switch (a must). Could use some upgraded wiring, but everything is working.
