- This brings back old memories. My brother and I use to race these old sixes on dirt tracks locally back in the 60's. The first ones had "babbit rod" bearings which were poured and 53 was the first year of rod bearing inserts. The early ones had little scoups on the rod that oiled the rod bearings. You could run those things to death. An overhaul was around $50.00 back then

We bought this car on 10/9/2010 for $600.00. Got it home and started trying to clean it up to see what kind of work she was going to need.
Specs
216 CI In-Line six, 3 speed manual transmission. Probably do the 1/4 mile in 44 seconds if someone helped push it.
