My wife saw a "Bug" at Das Awkscht Fescht in Macungie, PA last summer and commented that it looked like a toy Jeep!
One question: Why would you buy and sell the same car 8(!) times?

1959 Crofton Bug (Crofton)

Trophies: 2 Give a trophy Last updated Aug 30, 2008

Photo of a 1959 Crofton Bug (Crofton)

No longer owned

About

This is a 1959 Crfoton Bug. It was built by Crofton of San Diego, Ca. who had bought the Crosley engine rights. I've owned this car at least 8 times. I vowed never to sell it again. Now my best freind has it, and promised me it is in his will I get it back. Last year he and I did a complete frame off restoration on it. It took first place at the Crosley nationals

Specs

44 cu. in. but the engine is a mirror image of a Crosley engine, other than that all parts interchange with a Crosley. The mirror image blocks were made to make flat 8 Crosley engines for marine inboard use. They had a bunch of the mirror blocks left over and used them when they maade the Crofton.
