About

I purchased this Impala in the spring of 1977. I drove it daily to school and work. In the early 1980’s I started to customize the car. The car was originally white with red interior. I changed the interior to black. In 1981 I sent the car to have the flares put onto the quarter panels. I installed a Posi track 12 bolt with 488 gears and Lakewood ladder bars. I added a 1970 cougar eliminator spoiler to the trunk. In 1983 I built a 350 bored 30, 600 lift crane roller crane cam with roller rockers, screw in studs, guide plates and a tunnel ram with two 600 Holley Carburetors. The engine was too big to fit in the engine compartment so I bolted a L88 hood scoop on the hood and cut out the center of the hood and scoop so the engine stuck out through the hood. I installed the 28 16.5 pro-track tires on the back and weld wheels. I continued to make small alterations to the engine compartment and interior until 1989. I put the car in storage in 1989 because I was building my business. I pulled the car out of storage in 2002. We removed all of the windows and interior and completely went over the entire body (it took us forever to hand sand the entire vehicle). We also installed a M22 4 speed transmission. In 2004 I had a friend designed and paint the car with custom "old school" flames. In 2004 we put in the new headliner, newly upholstered seats, new carpet, new door panels and we disassembled and repainted the dash, gauge panel and console (that was a job!). We added customized touches to the door panels and the dash. I had the trunk compartment upholstered. In 2005 we installed a 454 blower motor.
