1978 Pontiac Trans Am (Big Red)

About

I owned this car for 12 years after buying it while in college back in the late 80s. I sold it to my big bro in 2000 after getting knee deep in my 69 convertible project. As you can see, he started a resto but decided he wanted to move on to something a little more current. Being offered the chance to get the 78 back we worked out a deal that resulted in him now owning the 94 6 speed Formula that I had. I have no idea when I'll even be able to pick up where he left off on the resto, but it's great to have it back home. I look forward to taking my wife on a date in it just like I did for the first time back in 1989. Memories are some of the things life is made of.

Specs

1978 WS6 Trans Am with the L78 engine option and auto trans. It is a matching numbers car with 165,000 miles. It was still running pretty good when it was parked and disassembly began but a rebuild is definitely in it's future.

Factory Options

WS6 performance suspension, power windows and locks, deluxe black interior, hood bird, heavy duty cooling system

Mods

Plans are to restore it to it's original glory. The 400 might end up with a couple of internal goodies but nothing too radical.
