Hey man, love the car and I grew up with a handful of you guys as I grew up in Maspeth myself. I am guessing I know you, as most of us guys were tight nit in the neighborhood while everyone else was going ricer.

Cheers,
~Lou

About

This car was put together with another 79 Monte that I bought from the original owner in 2000 that got into an accident through a complete body swap. I have literally turned every nut and bolt on this car since I have had it. You can see the history at my site...Faster340's site

Specs

The engine is from a 1969 vintage C series truck. 4 bolt mains, 9.1 compression, .040 overbore, stock cam and lifters (for now), high volume oil pump and double roller timing chain. The heads I sourced from a local machine shop. They are 882 casting number heads. 1.94, 1.50 valve, 3 angle valve job, ported and polished with a ZZ4 intake manifold Edelbrock carb., Dynomax ceramic headers w/2.5" pipes and Flowies. The tranny is a CZF Monte SS 200r4 overdrive transmission with a ProTorque converter 1800-2400 stall and custom tube crossmember. I picked up a used 40,000 mile Grand National 3.42 8.5" posi rear and freshened it up with parts from Summit racing. I have replaced all the brakes and hard brakelines. I have a Summit racing cooling system with dual electric fans and aluminum hipo water pump. I have upgraded the suspension with S-10 Moog 5660 springs in the front with poly bushings, SS Monte Carlo steering box, Bilsteins and a 36MM IROC swaybar. I have upgraded the rear suspension by boxing the control arms with a kit from www.hrpartsnstuff.com and poly bushings, Bilstein shocks and Monte SS coils.

The interior is mostly stock with SS gauges (120 speedo)and tach and Custom Autosound Hidden Audio and 2 6x9 250 watt speakers out back and 2 3.5" speakers in the front. I am currently working on the headliner, new carpeting and some seat panels that have ripped over the years. I am still running full ice cold A/C...I am considering recovering some mint condition 79 Monte Carlo buckets seats that I acquired a couple years ago.
