1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Turbo ("Show Room")
Last updated Dec 26, 2008
This color combo and similarly equipped had been traded in in the early 80's to a Motor Coach dealer. I wanted the car so bad, but just couldn't swing it with college. It was and still is a great color combination.
301 cubic inch Pontiac small block turbo charged.
factory claimed horsepower to be 210 HP from the factory, down 10 HP from the 1980 version.
Cloth Interior, Durand bolsters with Pimloco inserts in doeskin.
Two Tone interior, Dash Steering Wheel, Center Console, and rear Package Tray are dark brown. The rest of the interior is a light complimentary tan color.
Rear Window Defrost.
Four Wheel Disk Brakes
Courtesy lamp package
remote trunk release
Cruise Control with resume.
Tilt Steering Column.
Radio Accomodation Package
Dual muffler exhaust.
Sony Xplod head unit
Infinity Speakers front and rear.
Two 1000 watt amplifiers, yes one for the front pair of speakers and one for the rear.
Audiophile wiring installed throughout the car from the battery to the amps to the head unit to the speakers. I gutted the car to install properly and it sounds great even at highway speeds with the t-tops off.
