I wasn't really looking for a Vette, but someone told the local dealership in Cheyenne, WY I wanted one and the salesman showed up at my door one day and told me my friend gave him my address. They had had this 21,000 Corvette on their lot for almost a year and no buyers. They said make an offer and I said $10K and he said sold! I took this Vette to Germany and sold it to a German who wanted it bad for $17K...wish I had asked more since he didn't hesitate. This car would do 154 on the autobahn, but remember the 82s had speedos to only 85, so I computed it by the tach reading. Grandson Jonathon at the wheel...lol.

Specs

This was the first Vette with a TH700r4 auto transmission with overdrive...it got excellent mileage. It was also the first Vette with throttlebody injection. The throttlebodies looked like cross ram 4 barrels on the intake manifold. All 1982s were automatics and they continued making the 82s through 83. This year was a test bed for the drive train for the all new C4 Vette in 1984.
