Man, nice looking RX-7 thumbsup image.

I always loved the first generation RX-7; I remember when they first hit the showrooms and there were waiting lists to get them.

Photo of a 1985 Mazda RX-7 GT-X Turbo (Hotrocket85)

About

1985 S model Rx-7 has been through a bit of a transformation. The original 12a blew a apex seal at the dyno (108 hp)and that was after the Dupont paint and 15 x 7 Panasport wheels w/ P205/50/15 BFGoodrich. So I bought one of the Japanese import 12a Turbo's off Ebay. It's controlled by a Mega Squirt stand alone computer. Thanks to Kenny H. for the tuning and patients. Progress page on Mazspeed site.

Specs

12at street ported with updated turbo.

Factory Options

12A carburetor, Drum brake rear, No sun roof, no cruise, but it was LIGHT 2490lbs

Mods

Disc rear, RB Sway bars and bushings, Tokico Blues, 12a turbo from Japan with MicroTech computer, custom exhaust manifold with second gen. turbo, Tial BOV, Grimspeed MBC, RB streetport exhaust, 15" Panasport wheels, BFG g-Force Rival S 1.5
