2013 RAM 1500 4x4 Sport (Red Rocket)
Last updated Oct 5, 2016
I got the truck in February 2014. The truck came from Dave Smith Automotive in Kellogg, Idaho. I bought the truck for roughly 50% cheaper in Idaho than what I could've gotten it for here in New Mexico, thanks to Dave Smith Automotive's huge incentives on GM and Chrysler trucks. It's my daily driver. The truck has seen road trips to Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Texas. I try to keep as low miles on the truck as possible, but she's gotta see some road trips. All in all, it's been a damn good truck so far.
It's a boat, it weighs roughly 5,600 pounds. That's owning a half-ton truck for you. It's got the 5.7L V8 HEMI. The one thing I like about Chrysler is that the HEMI isn't detuned for the trucks like the Coyote is for the F150. It's estimated at about 420hp and 440trq right now, like I said basic bolt-ons so far. I've tested the 0-60 and 1/4-mile here in Albuquerque. The track here is somewhere around 7,200 feet in elevation. The truck ran a 7.0s 0-60 and a 15.6 1/4-mile at 97mph. Not bad times for that elevation. I don't know the top speed. Most trucks book at 120mph but the highest I've had it is 115mph and that's pretty scary in a truck with 33" tires.
It's a 2013, so the factory options list could go on forever. I think the only thing it lacks is Air Conditioned Seats and Backup Camera. The truck has Power Everything, Bluetooth, Navigation, etc.
The only modifications done to the truck to date are K&N Cold Air Intake and a Thrush Muffler. The plans for this truck include a Moe's 87mm Ported Throttle Body, 3.92 Gears, Limited Slip Differential, Electric Cutouts, Heads and Cam, Dyno Tune, etc. The list goes on. Eventually she will get lifted. There's been talk about a Procharger but that just depends on how much money I have and if I get a wild hair to do it. As for cosmetics and interior, the truck is de-badged. I plan on tinting the windows, adding some smoke lights, maybe some bigger racing tires, changing the headliner to black, etc. Like I said, the list goes on.
