1978 Pontiac Trans Am (T/A)
Last updated Apr 25, 2009
Not really in a position to own a car that I'd consider my dream car, as that would run me at least twice what I paid for this T/A. But when I went looking, my goal was that it had to be one of three things. A ragtop, a big block, or a 4 spd. Well, it's at least the last two! If one wanted to get a first gen. F-body with those options you'd be hard pressed to find a decent driver at twice the price, and this one is fun to work on and drive. I just don't care for the non-functional scoop and I've got the big bird for the hood but can't install it, just a bit on the cheesy side for me.
W72 car with the 400/220 hp. 4 spd.
Not an SE, but a gold model without the T-roofs.
Pretty well loaded for that year with the deluxe interior. Didn't know why it didn't have cruise as every other option is there, but was told that 4 spds. didn't have cruise until '80 or so.
All stock, has been rebuilt to factory specs. and has newer paint, but that's about it.
