Next we needed to lengthen the MAF plug. We cut the plug about 1-inch from the end, this will ensure that we have plenty of room to splice. The kit provides a bundle of color-matched wire. We stripped 1/2-inch off both sides of the wire and soldered the two sets of wire together before sliding a 1-inch piece of heat shrink tube over the two soldiered joints and melting the tubing with heat.
