Right Where We Belong

I’ll say it again, pulling into the Louisiana Oil & Gas Park in Jennings for the 18th annual Last Resort Show felt like catching up with old friends. This was my first year shooting the event for Street Trucks, and I can already tell you it’s one of those weekends I mark on the calendar every fall. If you’re anywhere near Louisiana or the Gulf Coast and you like custom trucks, this is the show you need to hit.

What started back in 2008 as a small get-together put on by Stuart Daigle has grown into the biggest custom automotive camping event in the state. Over 400 slammed trucks, classics, lowriders, and wild builds rolled in, set up camp, and turned the park into one giant backyard party. Free camping for participants and vendors means you wake up to the sound of engines firing and the smell of barbecue rather than hotel coffee. The laid-back Louisiana hospitality is real here with people hanging in truck beds, swapping stories, and checking out each other’s rides all weekend long.

The builds were on point again in 2025. I spent hours chasing details on fresh body drops, wild paint, and clean frames. You had everything from pro-touring squarebodies to wild mini-trucks and bagged full-size trucks sitting right next to each other. Live music kept the energy going, food trucks stayed busy, and the after-parties made sure nobody went to bed early.

For me, Last Resort isn’t just another show; it’s the kind of event where real gearheads come together, camp out, and celebrate what they built in their garages. The mix of great trucks, good people, and that easy Southern vibe makes it special.

If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor and get to Jennings this October. I’ll be there again with my camera, chasing the next perfect shot. Last Resort isn’t just worth the drive; it’s worth planning your whole weekend around.
