TODD Lozier from Redmond, Washington, didn’t set out to build a brand-new truck. He wanted to honor a friend. This 1957 Chevy Cameo was finished back in 2006 by someone close to him. After that friend passed away, the truck sat for years and fell into rough shape. Todd and his wife, Kris, decided it was time to bring it back to life and keep the original foundation strong.

It took them four years of steady work to get it right. Todd is a home builder by trade, so he knows how to get things done right. The truck’s body still wears that clean blue paint mixed by Shawn McNally at Regenerated Rides in Nampa, Idaho. They kept the original grille, added Dapper Lighting LED projectors behind the stock lenses, and welded up a smooth one-piece rear bumper. The truck rolls on Schott Accelerator d.concave wheels—20x9s up front and 22x12s in the back—all wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires.

Under the skin is where things get serious. The chassis is a modified original 1957 frame with hydraulic torsion bars up front and air bags in the rear, all handled by Rain City Garage. Ridetech shocks smooth out the ride.

For power, Todd went with a fresh 434 ci Brodix aluminum V8 built by C&D Machine. It’s running Holley Dominator fuel injection, custom headers, a 3-inch side-dump exhaust, and twin intercooled 76 mm Turbonetics turbos. A GM 4L80 transmission with a Yank 3,000 stall converter and billet input shaft backs it up. Brembo 8-piston brakes on all four corners make sure the truck stops as good as it goes.

Inside, they swapped in modified 1964 Pontiac GP buckets covered in brown Ciadella cloth and leather by All City Convertibles and Customs. The dash and panels are custom aluminum and ABS, the shifter was 3D-printed, and everything is controlled through an iPad mounted in the dash. No buttons, no switches—just clean and modern.

Todd says the most unique part is the iPad setup. He’s taken the Cameo to shows like Goodguys Pacific Northwest Nationals and Avants Classics on the Greens. Rebuilding an old custom isn’t easy, but Todd and Kris stuck with it and brought this classic Chevy truck back to life the right way.

Nice work, Todd. That’s how you honor a friend while building something special at the same time.
