Walking through the gates at Texas Motor Speedway for the Goodguys Spring Lone Star Nationals always feels like stepping into a giant hot rod family reunion. This year was no different. The massive infield turned into a sea of polished steel, rumbling engines, and smiling faces as thousands of rods, customs, muscle cars, and trucks filled the grounds.
Goodguys Rod & Custom Association has been putting on some of the best events in the country since 1983, and its Lone Star Nationals has become a spring tradition in Fort Worth. What started as a solid regional show has grown into one of the biggest hot rod gatherings in Texas, drawing builders and spectators from all over the Southwest and beyond. The mix of classic hot rods, slammed trucks, and wild customs makes it a perfect fit for Street Trucks readers.
I spent the whole weekend chasing unique details, body drops, tucked wiring, and big wheels. The burnout area stayed busy, the swap meet was packed with good deals, and the manufacturers’ midway had plenty of new parts to dream about. Families were out in force, kids were running around, and the live music kept the good times rolling all day.
There’s just something special about Goodguys events. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the cars are top-notch, and you leave feeling inspired to get back in the garage. We had a great time covering the Spring Lone Star Nationals again this year, and we’re already looking forward to coming back in 2026.
If you’re anywhere near Texas when this show rolls around, make the trip—you won’t regret it. See you next spring at Texas Motor Speedway.
