Based out of the Northern Illinois Suburbs, the Northern Illinois Streeters is truly a "Different kind of car club". The Northern Illinois Streeters or N.I.S. has NO officers, NO Club Dues and NO POLITICS! Just ALL FUN!
Because of this philosophy, N.I.S. has grown to nearly 140 members strong, mostly within a three year period. N.I.S. was formed back in November of 1999 by club members frustrated with clubs they already belonged to and were no longer having fun being a part of. N.I.S. gets it's strength from Participation, simple as that. People want to come out and show their cars, park together, wear their club shirts and hang out together.
N.I.S. plans club events throughout the year, even the "Off-Season" when the cars are in hibernation. Streeters events consists of Club Breakfasts, Museum trips and other activities. N.I.S. is a family oriented club and revolves around encouraging the entire family to participate and "Come along for the ride."
N.I.S. has events nearly EVERY weekend that the club attends together. And NO members are forced to be anywhere or attend anything they don't wish to. Although some of the larger N.I.S. events are strongly encouraged to join the group for a great time if possible. We simply have a blast!
No Dues, although there is a Registration Sheet for basic information (Name, Address, Contact Info, etc). Information on club events is sent mostly by Email.
There are NO Age Restrictions or restrictions of type of vehicle or year. There are even a few motorcycles and a couple mini-bikes and scooters in the club.
You get out of the club what you put into it. The more you participate, simply the more fun you have.
