I would assume that this is the big difference, being that in 79, Pontiac made the TA much like a catfish, in the fact that it became a bottom feeder. Sucking air soley from the spoiler area instad of from the grille area as were all years prior. In design, this was a problem, a fair amount of air would be sent up into the engine bay, but had very few places to escape as fast, creating a push up on the hood, which in turn creates the lift at high speeds. Oh-well, i love these cars anyway.

Lets see... ...... "H" mph comes up to about 110-115. I've had my 78 T/A up to "M" about 130. I never experienced any lifting on my 78, must be the difference in the noses.

Awsome run, makes me miss my ' 78 T/A even more. smile image I've always been partial to the older T/A's that had the last of the big blocks under the hood.
