After deciding not to restore my Blue Shoebox "Work in Process" project car, I found this "90% done" NOS restoration from a guy in El Paso, Texas - desert country where there's no rust.
It needed very little for the completion. I put a beautiful red paint job and a set of four wide white wall tires on it and a professional tuning job (the guy who owned it just hadn't got it quite right)... and it was ready to roll.
Shortly after buying it, I found another 1950 Ford that I liked even better, so I bought it, too - planning on keeping both of them.
When I was moving from northern California to Reno (where I was faced with limited parking, due to being in a CC&R community), the guy who owned the moving van company heard about the car from the packing crew and came by to make me an offer on it. I didn't really want to sell it, but I also didn't want to leave it in a storage unit where the rubber components would harden up and it wouldn't get driven often. Fortunately, there was a chance for it to go to someone who loved 50 Fords as much as I do.
